“If bond yields start to take off….it will be due to inflation expectations…”

Not necessarily so, it could also mean that liquidity is drying up.

If the fed mops up liquidity and stops buying treasuries as it said it would, 2010 will be a wipe out year for all debt based paper.

Dear CIGAs,

Happy New Year to all!

What a year it has been… Very hectic for the Norcini clan with the move across country, kids starting a new school and insanity in the markets all taken together. Here is hoping that 2010 is a less eventful year although something tells me that it might be even worse…

Best wishes to all,
Trader Dan

Floridagold…If Bond Yields start to take off…It will be due to Inflation Expectations..not due to an Improving Economy

….ie…Bond Prices are Dropping…

….Mortgage Rates will increase…

….Taxes will need to be increased to service the increasing interest on the Debt…

…The Housing Market will be Further depressed ….

….The Economy will be Flattened Further

….and as R 640 likes to point out…PMs are strongest in a Rising Interest Rate Enviornment…

….PS..If that INHS on the Ten Year Yield Chart Fulfils it projects 6% …

Take Your Money Out of the Hands of the Banking Oligarchs

The big banks on Wall Street, propped up by taxpayer money and government guarantees, have had a record year, making record profits while returning to the highly leveraged activities that brought our economy to the brink of disaster. In a slap in the face to taxpayers, they have also cut back on the money they are lending, even though the need to get credit flowing again was one of the main points used in selling the public the bank bailout. But since April, the Big Four banks — JP Morgan/Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo — all of which took billions in taxpayer money, have cut lending to businesses by $100 billion.

The idea is simple: If enough people who have money in one of the big four banks move it into smaller, more local, more traditional community banks, then collectively we, the people, will have taken a big step toward re-rigging the financial system so it becomes again the productive, stable engine for growth it’s meant to be. It’s neither Left nor Right — it’s populism at its best. Consider it a withdrawal tax on the big banks for the negative service they provide by consistently ignoring the public interest. It’s time for Americans to move their money out of these reckless behemoths. And you don’t have to worry, there is zero risk: deposit insurance is just as good at small banks — and unlike the big banks they don’t provide the toxic dividend of derivatives trading in a heads-they-win, tails-we-lose fashion.

Think of the message it will send to Wall Street — and to the White House. That we have had enough of the high-flying, no-limits-casino banking culture that continues to dominate Wall Street and Capitol Hill. That we won’t wait on Washington to act, because we know that Washington has, in fact, been a part of the problem from the start. We simply can’t count on Congress to fix things. We have to do it ourselves — and the big banks are the core of the problem. We need to return to the stable, reliable, people-oriented approach of America’s community banks. …

Of course you understand that Wanka is a  pirate and lives on a reef!  :-)

Robbery is what he is all about - now, had you sent a case of Bushmills to the reef - well - I expect that Buttercup would have been made to walk the plank!

G-Wolf got a fowl …

and some-one took it away as he’s crying wolf now - or even foul - instead of roasting the bird … too bad …

Fowl!

I wuz robbed, I tells ya!

C’mon Dusty

reminds me of an old scientific argument if the Romans spelled C like you do or like we in german speaking do mostly - C=K

The argument was settled as one of the professors mumbled rather loudly:

Kaesar and Kikero went to the Konkil

Kaesar in Kilinderhut and Kikero in kivil!

Have a great New Year all

frr

As the un-official official runner up all I have to say is

Why did you build me up, buttercup?  Just to let me down? And mess me around?  And then worst of all….I…I..I just can’t go on.

Neo, just hangin’, chad.

the winner of the 2009-2010 new years eve transition as per the expert judging panal of expert experts is now official

the willer is rosebud!….ahhhh oops ahhh buttercup yes its buttercup on the nose. what a contest and a great notice to ‘auneophyte’ for the 1099.87 call. it was the closest and would have won if it wasn’t for buttercup’s on the money 1096.35. must have confered with a physic i think?
until next year…buttercup enjoy your ’sack o gold’ winings.
