Years ago, during the Troubles, a Catholic constituency in Northern Ireland elected to the British parliament an MP who was in jail for terrorist offences.  Naturally he couldn’t take his seat in the House of Commons, or represent his constituents.  But they knew that when they voted for him.   For years I thought “what a waste of votes”; and although I may still think that a little bit, so what?  Who am I to judge?  The population were exercising their democratic right to elect whomever they wanted to.  Other differences in the UK to the US:  you only have to be 21 to stand for office (unless it has now been lowered to 18), nor do you do not have to be a British citizen, or even a BRitish passport holder. 

several prominent democrats have stated they will not run for re election. some are running because if they lose power, they will be indicted. it’s gonna be exciting soon.

this does not bode well for the year 2012 if we get that far.

In the past,  traders watched and made profit…those days are gone. I think we are now in a new world where charts and other references to the cabal footprints do not work. The system, is now all inclusive to a very few…call it very new age programing…the technology and the greed blended for a very nwo end.

There was obviously a misunderstanding between your post a few days ago and the response to it from Israeli, Goldilocks and moi.  I did not accuse your post of being ‘insidious’. I was referring to the other sort that keeps popping up like a whack-a-mole game. I do recall saying that I considered you fair-minded and was alarmed at what I understood your post to mean. So, let’s get that out of the way. It is pretty clear that you operate at a metaphysical level in the way you choose to live and the way that you view the world. That’s why I was uncomfortable with your seemingly uncharacteristic post. I did not realize you were on a real quest of knowledge.

As for answers to your many questions. First of all, I am a Jew married to a Lutheran. That would be a secular Jew who can only comment from an ‘outsider’ point of view. My sister was a Jew for Jesus before she just dropped being Jewish (some Jews think they can do that without conflict, some non-Jews don’t think you can do that without a problem as do some Jews) See how slippery it all gets? More opinions than Jews is probably a good starting point.  Politically I think your most important question is regarding serving God and serving the State. In my opinion, never an issue for Jews.  Never has been, never will be. Vast numbers of Israelis are citizens above all. Every Jew I have ever met is a citizen of the country in which they reside. We don’t have to make a choice. It is personal. The State doesn’t enter into your relationship with a Divine Being. It doesn’t enter into the laws of the religion. If you are a Jew living in France, you are French. Quite often, someone will remind you that you are Jewish when you were just walking around speaking French or whatever language you speak. It seems to be a problem at that time, but still not an issue of religion and state. There are civil laws we all mostly obey. They dovetail (in theory of course) easily with any Jewish religious practice. There are Ultra Orthodox Jews in Israel who refuse to serve in the army. Well, those are fundamentalists, and like any fundamentalists, are a thorn in the side of the average person because they feel they have a lock on the truth.  What is moral and what is not is a religious issue. What allows citizens to live lawfully side by side with equal treatment is a civil issue. People get them mixed up and it’s easy to see why.

As for Kabbala, I can’t spell it and I know more about Sufi mysticism than Kabbala. Also Buddhism is so appealing to Jews that the term “BuJew” is pretty common. We understand suffering. Buddhists understand suffering and the means to eradicate it if you can become enlightened. Catholics understand suffering so well that it’s a pretty good match psychologically with Jews. It is not my intention to put myself forward as an expert as you can see. I do note that it is one religion only that goldbug boards cannot leave alone. The rise of radical Islam has resulted in a resurgence of Jew hatred not seen since the Nazis. Now, some people see it the other way around. I recommend Dore Gold’s book “Hatred’s Kingdom” as a good read and a historical understanding of some of the facts in the region. As for the other topics, you probably know as much as I do or can readily google any one of them for true scholarship. Adin Steinsaltz wrote at least two books on Kabbala that I read many years ago, and I can recommend him as a fantastic guide to fundamentals. I have a little library on Jihad and recommend the American, Bruce Bawer as very readable. Also Andrew Bostom and Walid Phares come to mind. Robert Spencer is a walk on the wilder side. So, no, I’m not an expert Jew on anything in particular, I take umbrage at the intolerance of others (some of whom are Jewish) who scapegoat Jews. That has gone on for centuries. When you find out why, please let me know. There is strong historical precedent for Jews not to be able to own land, leave the ghetto, enter the professions and guilds, and ending up doing whatever was left to survive. Those prohibitions included and still include a bunch of countries, so maybe it’s something we’re doing. Again, please let me know what it is so that I can stop doing it immediately.

Thanks for posting that, not because I think that anything I post is of particular value to anyone, but because I have often felt the same as you, because for my tastes the incessant negativity in the Tent is too similar to what’s in the MSM.  It’s exactly why I never have owned a TV.  But I keep coming back for two reasons.  1) there are so many good people here and 2) there are some great nuggets and inspiration here, in spite of the overburden one must scroll through to find them.  (one such nugget today was the link posted by silver_rider @ 7:38)

Much of what I post here, other than what might be called inspiriational messages, is photographs or else nonsense to dilute the negativity some, but it’s stuff that no one needs.  All the inspirational messages are readily available elsewhere and anyone who wants to see my photographs can just go to my photo site.  So, I’m pretty useless here, too!  *GB

Impact Silver is one of Mexico Mike’s favorite stocks. He’s been recommending it for years.  I’ve got a few shares myself.  I don’t know If you’ve ever seen a video of Fred Davidson the CEO of Impact but that’s one guy who exudes honesty and frugality.

Do a search of the GoldTent archives and you’ll find that your desires have already been answered many times over!  On only a small percentage of days has any one of those words been found in posts.  What’s your interest in discouraging any such discussion?  Are you against free speech in general or just on this topic?

On December 30th I posted some material, with a request for reading recommendations on the subject.  You responded to that post, but not with reading recommendations.  Instead you protested about my posting of “…an insidious collection of  a propaganda based agenda.“  Obviously you have a strong bias.

Although I have no interest to enter into an emotional debate with you, I would be very happy for you to respond to my original request for reading material recommendations on the subject you are obviously sensitive to.  I’ve been doing a lot of research into the history in order to better understand the present situation, but will welcome your reading suggestions, especially since it appears that you view yourself as somewhat of an expert on the subject.  This topic is extremely interesting and is related to so much of what transpires in our world.  It would be an oversight for Tenters to be discouraged by anyone who would make discussion of these topics taboo.  The history is rich, but very different than what is commonly projected by current news stories, urban legend and misinformation.

It will be good if you can steer me toward reference material that you trust which delves into the original intent of the Kabbalah and tikkun olam, with views as to whether or not these aspects of Judaism continue to be an important part of the Jewish religion today as per the original intent, or if they’ve been perverted or simply aren’t taught; history about the origins of political Zionism as promoted by Theodor Hertzl as opposed to Judaism the religion; the involvement of Christians (Christian Zionists) to help establish a Jewish state in order to fulfill that Bible prophesies and speed up the process to the 2nd coming of Christ, etc.; the opposition of Orthodox Jews to the contrived political establishment of a Jewish state and their view that their religion has been hijacked by the Zionists; the validity of the slogan “Land Without People For a People Without Land“; the differences between devotion of Jews to serving God vs. serving the state.  Of course, also appreciated will be any reading material you believe is accurate that addresses the question as to whether or not there is any reason to believe there is a link between what is commonly referred to as the New World Order and Zionism.  One more thing of interest is to know whether or not you believe there will one day be a metaphysical awakening by all people on Earth, an understanding of our interconnectedness and unity under one ‘God’.

BTW I have climbed up to Masada, learned the history and the very real modern-day symbolism of Masada in the vows Israeli forces take there:  “Masada will not fall again.”

Thanks for the clarification. I was, indeed, dazed and confused. It is Mexico Mike that likes Impact, right? I’ve bought and sold it a couple of times, and it is performing nicely at the moment. I’m going to have to change the names on my dartboard stock picker so I don’t get so confused again.
