I think Martin would of had some fundamental similarities but I don’t think he would sell people out for profit. I say people instead of “his” people because I although I was very young then don’t think he was a hippocrite. In the day your post was written people had a sence of community.Of course they had their dark side,like mobs hanging a person on a accusation. call it community peer influence or self rightousness.People have a habit of swinging too far to the left or right.Like a rock that sits on the edge of a cliff, it just sits there,but if someone were to push it it would roll until the forces of resistance were greater than momentum.In those days if a neighbors house was on fire, a cave in at the mine, or the neighbors kid fell in a hole they all got togeather and worked to help their neighbor.They had the ability to think outside the box. The box being their own little world. Now they call the fire department. There is nothing wrong with making your box a better place but people have lost the ability to think outside it. Im beginning to think that too many of the people are just like these people, “in power” that are absorbed in their little boxes, unable to think outside it, or their world. It is time for a revolution. Government does not work for regular people. It appears to work quite well for big corporations, banks, insurance companies, military contractors, lobbyists, and for the rich and powerful. But it does not work for people.
The 1776 Declaration of Independence stated that when a long train of abuses by those in power evidence a design to reduce the rights of people to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it is the peoples right, in fact their duty to engage in a revolution.
