 How can one talk about beating inflation and not include Precious Metals and Commodities? This is totally asinine. Commodity bull markets go hand in hand with inflationary periods. Yes, Gold doesn’t always match inflation. It rises when inflation expectations rise and not when there is disinflation. And yes, clearly the author and most followers of mainstream publications fail to realize that excessive sovereign debt is a precursor to severe inflation. Bank lending, consumption, etc is not relevant in this environment of impending sovereign bankruptcy, zero percent interest rates and quantitative easing.

Thanks for the interesting article on ECU. When looking at charts, I have been impressed by the double bottom and the accumulation pattern.

I am a fan of Jim Sinclair and I think that I do understand his commentary regarding Gold. It’s Silver that puzzles me. Jim talks of much higher Gold prices with certainty but, seems to be lukewarm to Silver’s prospects compared to Gold.   Others, notably Ted Butler, feel that Silver will greatly out perform Gold in the next few years. Jim doesn’t seem to see it that way. I’m wondering if we may be fooling ourselves in thinking that Silver will outperform based on Sinclair’s lack of enthusium for AG.?
