i’m still in the hyperinflation camp, but don’t think for a minute that you can’t get instant deflationary fallout. all that is required is that the government sharply reduce throwing fiat around. individuals and corporations are spending as little as possible. if the government stops throwing fiat around, the velocity and new supply falls sharply and instant deflation. the big question is, when does the government stop throwing fiat around, before or after hyperinflation. if both houses of congress change hands, a big monetary surprise may be in the making.

is that mountain of debt going to be repudiated or inflated or some combination. coming soon to an economy near you.

As several Goldtent postings today indicate, I intended that cheque to go towards your 2011 Tentathon, as soon as I learned that amals was making a similar contribution to the anticipated 2011 request for funds. However I now see in the sidebar that WANKA has graciously stepped aside to let my contribution for 2011 take precedence now over his 2010 contribution. Much appreciated Wanka. Deflation? Sure, but only when you can see heavy currency restriction  .The US dollar has so much debt, as do so many major Western currencies, that any potential  reduction in currency issuance will be  but, a drop in the bucket, compared to to the already issued debt. Let’s be clear here: There can not be deflation Ever…UNLESS…there is NEW currency issued that has a restrictive issuance, backed by World Wide acceptance.  And re-read RESTRICTIVE ISSUANCE and World Wide Acceptance. Any Deflation theory other than as stated above  is simply nonsense.

outside the goldtent and a few other places, nobody wants to listen. we have now reached the point where when the sky hits the surface, you better have your plans in place. the mid term elections will probably put the pieces in place, if not, the next general election will make sure. the deflationairy expectations will come true. the only question is, will we have hyperinflation before then. the debt will be extinguished by worthless fiat in circulation or no fiat in circulation. the end result is the same. the road is quite different.

if the tea party is successful, government spending will plummet and deflation will be among us. if the morons keep control of the fiat spigot, inflation will be out of control until nobody will accept the fiat. the bonds rolling over gives us a clue. the bidding at the auctions is a total failure. the fed is now buying most of the toxic waste spewed forth by the treasury. maybe, just maybe, we can get the fed loaded with all those bonds and then tell them the treasury will take over as the central bank. the fed loaded to the gills with bonds and interest rates goin up. couldn’t happen to nicer folks.

when did the new fund raiser start? i didn’t get a chance to contribute any fiat.

I totally agree with you. I became politacally active when Ron Paul ran for president. I said then that we needed to take over the republican party from within and believe that we are slowly accomplising that goal here in Idaho. I have been very busy this summer trying to get conservitive people elected at the local and state level. We have a very active tea party here. I am the state committeman for district 35 from Challis.

I am glad you posted your ideas and clearly you see the glass half empty. I will not try to change your mind, but we will need to agree to disagree. I see the glass half full and think the tea party patriots is a long coming movement that is going to affect the USA in the next few years. It showed in 2006 and 2008 when they rejected the GOP RINO’s selling away of small government ideals, so they chose not to vote in the those elections and brought Pelosi and Obama in charge. After the stimulus in feb 2009, cap and tax proposal march 2009, promise of a different America, with much bigger expansion of government in march 2009, the tea party patriots came out in april 2009. I participated in several rallies in Georgia for the FAIR TAX, the national sales tax on consumption replacing the income tax. Lots of people of all races and not only republican but also democrats. the FAIR TAX makes sense when someone takes the time to listen and it is explained well. The problem will come from the lobbysts and the career politicians, the ones that want to serve the people will do what is right. That is why we need the wins of the tea party patriots in the repubs primaries and then on to defeat the democrats on nov 2nd to start to get some sense in DC. That is why you see crying from the repubs establishment right now, just wait for november 2nd and you will see the democrats cry too. Why aren’t the dems platforms talking about the Obama and congress accomplishments in the past 2 years? why are they distancing themselves from health care reform? cap and tax? and all the other bludgening of the budget?
This year the important problems are the ballooning debt, illegal immigration, tax cuts and not gay marriage and that is why is a though problem for democrats to have anything to run on except to smear these tea party patriots. Herman Cain a black radio talk show host here in Georgia said it beautifully about the democrats reasoning (SIN method) Shift the subject, Ignore the facts, Name calling what else? they have no ideas except grow the government. The tea party is the symptom of the malaise, the FAIR TAX is the cure for all these problems:debt, illegal immigration, tax cuts for everybody and especially for the legal residents of the USA. So I am involved in this movement and I am not waiting my destiny with my hands tied and I am here to get my voice heard. you should too if you believe, if you don’t i understand…..
My #1 problem is the income taxes and therefore as far as your comparison between Bush jr and Obama, for me Bush wins hands down since he cut taxes and Obama wants to raise taxes.
