As a PM investor, the nicest part of looking forward to a new year is the expectation that many PM companies that are presently little known will begin to appear on the pages of not only the Northern Miner but also more mainstream media. As one example of what I am anticipating for 2011, in the link below click on “Callinan property presentation” on the map on their home page. Company officials have realized the benefit of a user-friendly way to present for investors information about their properties - using Google Earth to portray property locations, even more informative than a guided helicopter viewing of their properties. FWIW - I have this feeling that anything China + Nat Resources or agriculture will do very well next year. But…the volatility in this stuff will be a bonecrusher…brutal if we’re on the wrong side. I like PTR for safety, a little 4% divi and cap appreciation if we see oil rise and China stay stable.

I still think short US treasuries might be one of the best plays over the next couple of years.

A “stealthy” 10 years.

To all; we are today finishing the 10th year in a row where Gold has risen, truly an astonishing accomplishment considering public opinion of Gold 10 years ago. It has certainly paid off to have been a contrarian during the cold winter days of 2000! Sentiment is still very cool toward the metals particularly in the US because of all the misinformation being spread. In fact, I cannot think of any market anywhere that could have risen 10 years running that generated such little interest. The suppression tactics though did not keep Gold and Silver down have certainly worked to keep many sheeple OUT of this market. Suppression has only succeeded in keeping many many investors “naked” from the protection they so sorely need and will desperately need shortly when paper goes into it’s bonfire phase.

Yes, this has been a “stealth” bull market where no one believed it and very few even knew about it until recently. THIS is about to change in a huge way! The fortunes that will be made in the next 1-2 years will be legendary, particularly by those who participate in the teeny tiny junior/exploration market. The availability of quality land positions and float/market cap is extremely small while currency/debt outstanding is huge and growing by the minute. THIS IS IT folks, 2011-2012 will determine your standard of living for the rest of your life. If you are not “in”, you need to be. If you are already “in”, DO NOT let anything scare you out because you (and your heirs) will never forgive yourself!

I have mentioned many times that a “Mad Max” type of society is a distinct possibility once governments begin to domino into collapse, if this does occur I would submit to you that it will certainly be better not to be flat assed broke. Having wealth in such a scenario will allow you mobility and options, being broke means you will be “stuck” and must move with the pack and do what you are told. Please protect yourselves because no one and no government will do it for you. I suspect survival of the fittest will be the best investment philosophy over the next couple of years.
